My Testimony

I had a somewhat angry response from one of my neighbors from our last  mailing because he implied that I was somehow benefiting from these  cards financially. It costs me $70 to send these but I do get to feel  the approval of my Heavenly Father.

I felt after that conversation that I should explain why I do this.

I was born in the 60's and raised in the 70's when well over 90% of people in North America identified as Christians (meaning that 80% of them were deceived).  I was one of the deceived.  When I was in my early 20's I had someone who I loved die the day after we discussed getting married.  I watched life support being removed from their body.

I then spent the next 12 years as a quite angry atheist.  In my mid 30's I married and my new wife wanted me to start attending church with her.  My reply was that I would get a Bible (stole one from a hotel room) and some colored highlighters and read cover to cover and show her in highlighted sections how ridiculous it was and she could stop believing and be like me.  I wasn't half way through the Bible and I knew that it was filled with incredible wisdom, and it was a love letter to me. I had to admit that I was the foolish one, not the God of the Bible. I knelt in our living room and asked Jesus to be my Savior.

Once I did that I had a hunger to read His Word, to hear His Word preached, and to have the people I love and those God puts around me to know His love in their life.

It is not winsome to offend anyone so I do pray that these cards do not anger or offend you.  They are sent with love and covered in prayer that you would recognize your sins, know that you need a Savior, and bend you knee to ask Jesus to be that.

It really is a simple as praying this; "My Father I know I am a sinner.  I know that Jesus died to pay for my sins so I can be in Your presence for eternity.  Please save me.  Amen.
